What we got Wednesday… plus a big reveal!

First of all, we got more yarn spools! In addition to the wonderful single spools (some are maple, for that extra Canadian touch!), we got a couple of double spools. These beauties help make colourwork go smoothly by making the yarn wrangling easier.

Book Club will be meeting on Tuesday, November 24 from 6:30 – 8:30pm at the store. Our November book will be the best seller “Friction” by Sandra Brown. Please call the store at 403-457-3020 to register for your spot, the cost is $10.

We can’t wait any longer!!
As you know, we have been plotting our next knit-a-long. We have had “a few” questions about what it will be, and when it will start. Well… we are thrilled to announce that the next knit-a-long is:
Our new knit-a-long will start on January 1st, 2016, and continue until midnight, December 31st, 2016. There will be a different technique featured every month for the year. If you complete a project using the featured technique by the end of its assigned month (midnight on the last day), your name will be entered into a draw for a prize for that month. We will still have our usual grand prize draw at the end of the knit-a-long, but we are doing things a little differently this time. Every time you complete a project within the assigned month, you get an entry into the grand prize draw as well as the monthly draw. So completing 12 months gets you 12 entries into the grand prize draw! We will announce our first technique in December, so you’ll have lots of time for planning.
When we were putting this new knit-a-long together, we realised that some people might not know some of the techniques. We didn’t want anyone to be left out, so we are going to be running a series of classes along with the knit-a-long. This will allow you to learn a new technique while joining in the fun!
We will create threads on Ravelry for the new knit-a-long, for chat and for pictures, and we will post a bit more about “housekeeping” in the future, but we were too excited to keep quiet any longer!!
We think this is going to be amazing, and we are really looking forward to seeing the variety of gorgeous projects that you always produce!!
