K301 – Advanced Colourwork

Are you ready to sink your teeth into some advanced colour work? Perhaps you’ve been dreaming of one of the beautiful fair isle sweater patterns out there, but find the idea of a WHOLE sweater a bit intimidating? We can help! Join Myrna for this advanced colourwork class, she’ll guide you through the process of wrangling all those colours to create Kate Bostwick’s beautiful “Oban” hat! We will have kits available for purchase, or you can choose your own colour combination & purchase the pattern here!

Please note: needle sizes are recommended, please check your gauge. Also, the Dec. 9th class runs from 10:15 am – 12:15 pm for that day only.

Students MUST be proficient in basic – intermediate colourwork.

Yarn Requirements

6 balls of Jamieson & Smith 2 ply Jumper weight yarn, or Oban kit.


  • 2.5 mm (US 1) 16" circular needle
  • 3 mm (US 2) 16 inch circular needle
  • 3.0 mm (US 2) DPNs

Advanced Knitting

Ability to knit projects using advanced techniques and stitches, such as short rows, fair isle, more intricate intarsia, cables, lace patterns, and numerous colour changes. Knitter will be able to ‘read’ their knitting, use charts and will have the ability to fix errors.
