Warm Woollen Mittens?

We’ve had a request from a teacher at a high needs elementary school. She is searching for 16 pairs of much needed, handknitted wool mittens to donate to her Grade 3 students. As part of their reading and language arts program, they will be learning about the origin of “made” items, from sheep to yarn to mitten and reading “The Mitten Tree” by Candace Christiansen. If you’d like to help us help them warm some little hands, The Loop will provide a discount on any wool purchased for our “mitten tree” project. She is looking for plain mittens, like these mittens or these . We’d like to have as many as possible by the end of Flebruary, but we will gladly take any mittens after that and donate them too. You can drop the mittens off at The Loop, and we will set up our own mitten tree in the store next week.
Thank you so much knitters, love from all of us at The Loop!!
